On February 29, 2024, Novartis hosted the Biome Summit ‘24. In this edition of the summit, the focus is on harnessing the power of collective intelligence and collaboration to drive the evolution of healthcare. The summit was designed with interactive workshops to foster working collectively to develop tangible solutions for healthcare needs.

Our Approach:

• Creative Futures designed and delivered a 60 minute Master Class, “Creating the Healthcare Systems of Tomorrow: How to Make Future-Informed Decisions”;

• ~70 participants experienced short segments of content sharing and interactive exercises to explore future possibilities for health and healthcare.

• Creative Futures designed the session to include a description of a possible future of healthcare in 2040, interactive polling, and small group activities that included using a deck of approximately 30 trend cards that highlighted social, technological, economic, environmental and political changes that might impact the futures of health and healthcare.

• Participants worked in small groups to select the three most impactful and uncertain trends for the futures of health and healthcare and then use those trends to imagine possible futures of health and healthcare in 2040.

• At the end of the session, Creative Futures highlighted case studies about how this methodology can be applied and left participants with a framework for decision-making.

Results:

At the end of the session, we left participants with a framework to help with decision making along with a deck of trend cards that could be used in other interactions.
