People-Centred Care Strategy

North York General Hospital

In preparation for their new strategic plan, the Quality and Service Transformation team at North York General Hospital conducted internal and external interviews, as well as additional research. However, due to COVID-19-related capacity constraints, the team needed additional support and external perspectives to summarize their findings and articulate a compelling narrative.

Creative Futures collaborated with North York General Hospital to develop their five-year People-Centred Care strategy, as well as the development of an implementation roadmap.

Our Approach:

  • Designed and facilitated a six-week sprint that included multiple feedback sessions with key stakeholders and decision makers.

  • Creative Futures used the three-horizon framework to guide a series of workshops - focusing on current strengths and opportunities, future goals and then the action plan to get there.

  • We used emerging changes impacting the future of healthcare to interrogate and strengthen the overall strategy.

  • Identified tangible short- and longer-term initiatives needed to activate the strategy.

  • The work culminated in a compelling and beautiful presentation deck for the team to share with internal audiences.

Results:

The Board of Directors endorsed the new strategic plan for people-centred care. The team at NYGH is in the midst of implementing key initiatives to advance this strategy.

It was a pleasure to work with Creative Futures. We were looking for a partner that could help us frame a transformational new strategy related to People-Centred Care at North York General and the team at Creative Futures were very effective in helping us get there.
