School of Creative Arts in 2040
University of the Fraser Valley
The School of Creative Arts at the University of the Fraser Valley has a confirmed plan to build a multimedia performance lab. To ensure this new space is designed to reflect the changing post-secondary landscape, Creative Futures conducted a preliminary assessment of UFV’s creative arts infrastructure needs by 2040.
Our Approach:
Research and analysis on the possible futures of creative arts post-secondary education.
Interviews with UFV faculty and staff to understand current and future opportunities and challenges.
Identification of needs and opportunities for UFV infrastructure including imagining the future students in 2040 and other emerging technology, social, economic and environmental changes.
Collaboration with UFV faculty and staff to inform a 10-year roadmap to achieve the near-term and longer-term goals for the university.
Development of a report that summarizes the preliminary assessment and proposed next steps.
Results:
UFV has a preliminary assessment to share with senior management that outlines a clear path of activities over the next 10 years in order to activate a longer-term vision for the School of Creative Arts.
